Food, glorious food!

What do you love to eat? If you’re anything like me its pretty much anything as long as it tastes good. Growing up in an Indian family means that food means so much more than just eating, its about love, a means of showing how much you care, it can act as an icebreaker and socialising without food isn’t even socialising is it!?!

So many of my memories are connected to food, grilled barracuda on the beach at Koh Chang, the most delicious almond croissant I have ever eaten from the tiny bakers in La Tania, the first ice cream my daughter ate, the cheesecake I didn’t get to eat on our wedding day, there are so many.

Charcuterie board deli style

If you ask my girls what the most important ingredient is when cooking they will tell you it’s love, because that’s what I have taught them and that’s what my mum taught me and what my grandmother taught her.  You know when you eat out at a restaurant and enjoy a delicious meal that the chef is passionate about the food you are eating and that passion can be tasted in every mouthful you eat. Equally when you get served a mediocre meal at a restaurant, bets are that the chef was having a bad day or simply has lost their passion.

As I write this post I am waiting for my brioche rolls to prove for our hand ground burgers that we’ll be having for dinner tonight. At Hello Pyrenees we love good food, we love sharing a meal with friends and family and most of all we love making people smile. So, when you stay and eat with us we hope that you will taste that love and passion and pure enjoyment of eating in every mouthful.

Bon appetit,

d’Amy la gourmand!
